Meet Gretchen Jeannette

Greetings from my home ground of Chester County, Pennsylvania, an area rich in Revolutionary War and Colonial American history. The cornerstone of the farmhouse where I grew up bears the date of 1704, just twenty-two years after William Penn first arrived in Pennsylvania.

My enduring interest in eighteenth-century America began at a young age, inspired by tales of adventure, romance, and local folklore. A classmate in elementary school introduced me to Altsheler’s The Young Trailers Series, and from then on, I couldn’t read enough American historical fiction.

After working as an editor for a publishing company, I decided to write a story of my own. So began a journey fueled by my passion for breathing life into history with compelling characters, authentic historical details, and plots laced with intrigue, romance, and suspense.
